"Human beings are the only species that are ridiculous enough to seem to have a huge problem with trans folks," Page said.
"The natural world and what we learn in biology class in terms of it seemingly being this cis hetero-patriarchal... system... however we'd say that is, I feel, is used against queer and trans people in terms of us being made to seem maladaptive, like there's something wrong with us or we're some modern thing, which we of course know is untrue," Page said.
The actor then went on to insist that transgender-identifying animals exist and that humans need to shed what Page described as an unwarranted stigma surrounding those biological realities.

Page also discussed playing Sinon in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming The Odyssey, a character involved in the Trojan Horse deception that TransLash host Imara Jones referred to as a genocide.. In the film’s version, Sinon does not know soldiers are hidden inside the horse and later confronts Odysseus in Hades over the betrayal and the deaths that followed.
"In this situation, my character does not know that these men are on this horse,” Page said, referencing the famous Trojan Horse deception. “And so in the confrontation with Odysseus in Hades, in that scene, he's confronting him with, like, 'How could you lie to me? I sacrificed myself for you and for this. How could you lie to me?' And all these people behind me are the people that have died for you and your mission.”
"So I think the character of Sinon is carrying this horrible weight, of course, and regretting being a part of this, as well as, in many ways, being used and himself tricked into this situation."
The Odyssey directed by Christopher Nolan has been a major commercial success since its release, topping the domestic box office during its opening weekend and grossing more than $700 million worldwide. The epic adaptation has also drawn strong reviews from critics and audiences, making it one of the year's biggest films and Nolan's highest-grossing movie to date.
