Reporter Katie Daviscourt of The Post Millennial joined US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for an exclusive ride-along in Portland, Oregon, where federal agents made targeted arrests of illegal immigrants affiliated with transnational gangs.

This ride-along comes amid ongoing violence targeting the ICE facility in South Portland, which prompted the Trump administration to escalate ICE operations in the self-described sanctuary city that refuses to cooperate with federal immigration law.

Daviscourt, who has extensively covered Portland's immigration and public safety crises, documented the harsh reality federal agents face in the field while apprehending subjects unlawfully residing in the country, many of them being the "worst of the worst" offenders. As agents moved in under the cover of dawn, suspects bolted at the sight of federal badges, resulting in vehicle chases and foot pursuits.

Complicating the operation were agitators, many of whom are involved with Portland-based Antifa networks, who trailed federal agents in vehicles and on foot, attempting to disrupt the high-risk immigration enforcement operations with horns, whistles, and intimidation. At least one agitator was referred to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) for prosecution.

Despite the ongoing chaos against ICE in Portland, ICE ERO Seattle Field Office Director Laura Hermosillo told The Post Millennial that her team remains steadfast in their mission: protecting the homeland from within and enforcing the nation's laws that keep communities safe.
