A Florida man has been arrested on a warrant nearly two years after allegedly beating his girlfriend's 5-year-old son for watching PAW Patrol, a show he deemed to be "for girls."

Keyyun Bryant, 36, was subsequently charged with one count of felony child abuse.

According to WPLG, the incident took place on Dec. 26, 2022 at a home in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood while the boy and an unidentified witness were watching the popular children's program.

The witness told the University of Miami Child Protection Team that Bryant "came into the room ... and grabbed the victim by the arm, neck, and hit him in the back of the head because the victim was in the 'girls room'."

The boy told investigators that Bryant had "scratched" him and "wrapped both his hands around his neck and told him that he was going to take him to jail."

A warrant was issued for Bryant's arrest, and he was tracked down by detectives with the Miami Police Department's Felony Apprehension Team on April 2 near Northwest 13th Avenue and 60th Street. He was apprehended and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

As WPLG reports, Bryant maintained that he was innocent, claiming that the child's biological father had a history of making false allegations against him. The 36-year-old also noted that he frequently watched over his girlfriend's children while she went to work.

Launched in 2013, PAW Patrol "stars a pack of pups who go on high-stakes rescue missions, teaching kids about problem-solving and teamwork along the way."

"With over a decade of amazing adventures on TV, two big screen movies, and about a million YouTube rescues, these pups are ALWAYS ready for action," the show's description reads. "After all, no job is too big, no pup is too small!"
