Police went to the scene after 911 calls were made as snow was falling in the early morning at around 1:15 am on Sunday. The teenagers shot at the location ranged from 15 to 17 years old. The victims included a 15-year-old girl shot in her chest, leg, and hip; a 15-year-old boy hit in the left arm; a 15-year-old girl who was shot in the right leg; a 16-year-old male who was shot in his left foot; a 16-year-old male shot in the right arm, as well as a 17-year-old hit in the right leg.
Witness to the events, Ebony Sanders, said of the shooting, “It was a chaotic situation; there were paramedics and police rushing in and bringing people out one by one. I’ll say a prayer for everyone involved," per AMNY.
The victims were all taken to be treated at Brookdale University and Kings County Hospitals and are in stable condition. The shooting took place within the jurisdiction of the 75th Precinct, however, overall shootings in the region have dropped by 33 percent over the last year. As of December 7, there were 34 shooting incidents compared to 51 last year at the same time.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. “NYPD detectives are following all leads and will provide updates as more information becomes available.”
