Illegal alien let in by Biden admin shoots California woman dead after stalking her for months—kills himself during standoff with police

A California woman was shot and killed outside a Panera Bread in Sacramento County on Tuesday by an illegal immigrant from India who had been stalking her for months.

38-year-old Shalini Thaku was shot in the head by Rohit Rohit while she was standing near her car. Rohit allegedly chased Thaku and shot her when she attempted to flee before getting into his vehicle and driving away. When law enforcement later caught up to him, he committed suicide with his firearm, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Rohit reportedly had a history of stalking Thaku dating back to January, when she discovered an Apple AirTag attached to her vehicle. He allegedly deflated her car tires and followed her to work while pretending he could help her.

Rohit had also obtained a copy of a key to Thaku’s apartment so he could break in while she was sleeping. Thaku had gotten a restraining order against Rohit in May, but he continued stalking her despite the order.

"She could have been saved. She told police so many times," Thakur’s mother told ABC 10.

DHS said Rohit had entered the United States illegally through Arizona in August of 2023 under the Biden administration. Upon entering illegally, he was arrested by the US Border Patrol and subsequently released into the country.

“This illegal alien from India harassed, stalked, and then killed a 38-year-old woman in California, and then took his own life when police caught up to him,” said a DHS Spokesperson. “This tragedy would have been completely avoided if it weren’t for the Biden Administration RELEASING this killer into our country. Sanctuary politicians must put an end to reckless policies that play Russian roulette with American lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and her family.”
