On May 22 at 10:30pm, OPP responded to a call that people had gathered at a short-term rental on Lakeshore road in the township of Oro-Medonte. Six people were issued fines in connection with the gathering.

The six people involved were all residents of the Toronto area, and were fined by means of Provincial Offence Notices under the Reopening Ontario Act (ROA). The charge was failure to comply with a continued Section 7.0.2 order, contrary to Section 10 (1) of the ROA.

The ROA is a bit of a misnomer, since the rules in place are currently very strict. People in the province of ON are expected to not mix with people who are not of their own household at this time, and to not leave their homes except for essential reasons.

The province of ON is slated to gradually reopen in the near future, depending on statistical markers like the available ICU capacity throughout the province.
