An illegal immigrant has been arrested and charged after allegedly abducting and assaulting an underage female in Virginia. Police reported that the suspect was holding the victim against her will in the back of his car prior to the arrest.

At around 4 am on Wednesday, police responded to a call at a Love's truck stop in Covington, Virginia, according to a press release from the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office. The call came from a minor Hispanic female who was requesting assistance.

"Deputies responded to the scene and located a dark grey 4-door sedan with Arkansas registration in the parking lot. Along with an adult male, identified as Diego Soch Castro, and a juvenile female who was identified as the complainant. During their investigation, the officers determined that the female was from Louisiana and was being held captive against her will in the vehicle by Castro," the release read.

Castro was taken into custody and then transported to Alleghany County Regional Jail. He was then charged with abduction, taking indecent liberties with a minor, and assault and battery. An ICE detainer was also placed on Castro. The minor female was then taken to Lewis Gale Alleghany hospital for evaluation and later released to child protective services.

The investigation into the crimes is ongoing by the police in Virginia. The crime comes with the ongoing border crisis that has come with President Joe Biden's soft border security policies. As of Feb. 2024, the US has recorded over seven million illegal immigrants coming into the country, not counting those not recorded. This also does not consider the "gotaways" that have evaded border security and other authorities.
