Illegal immigrant crashes car into ICE vehicle in 'dangerous attempt' to resist arrest in St Paul, MN

A criminal illegal immigrant caused a significant vehicular crash on Wednesday while attempting to evade ICE arrest in St. Paul, Minnesota, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Alexander Romero-Avila, of Honduras, reportedly ran red traffic lights before pummeling his vehicle into several cars, including one driven by ICE agents.

The incident occurred around 9:40 am at the intersection of Western and Selby Avenues, Fox 9 reported. Romero-Avila was transported to the hospital for evaluation. DHS said that no federal agents or bystanders sustained injuries from the migrant's "dangerous attempt to resist arrest."

Video footage posted to social media showed an individual being wheeled into an ambulance on a stretcher. A crowd of agitators had also gathered at the scene.

"On February 11, ICE officers attempted to conduct a targeted vehicle stop of Alexander Romero-Avila, an illegal alien from Honduras RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration in 2022," DHS Assistant Sec. Tricia McLaughlin told The Post Millennial in a statement.

"In a dangerous attempt to resist arrest, this illegal alien tried to evade law enforcement and began driving recklessly and ran red lights, endangering public safety and law enforcement. Romero-Avila crashed his vehicle into multiple vehicles and a ICE law enforcement vehicle," she continued. "Law enforcement immediately called 911 to get medical assistance. No members of the public or ICE officers were injured in the crash. The illegal alien was taken to Regents Hospital for evaluation of injuries."

"These dangerous attempts to evade arrest have surged since sanctuary politicians have encouraged illegal aliens to evade arrest and provided guides advising illegal aliens how to recognize ICE, block entry, and defy arrest. Our officers are now facing a 3,200% increase in vehicle attacks."

In contrast, St. Paul's newly elected mayor, Kaohly Her, slammed ICE in a statement, saying that agents remain "putting residents at risk." Additionally, she called on DHS to end Operation Metro Surge.
