Chox Gonzales, who was wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact, was at the top of the Texas most wanted list of illegal immigrant criminals.
Victor Hugo Chox Gonzalez, a 38-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in Fort Worth. Chox Gonzales, who was wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact, was at the top of Texas’ new most wanted list of illegal immigrant criminals.
Chox Gonzalez has a long criminal history and was arrested earlier this month. In 2016, he was convicted of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 and assault causing bodily injury to a family member. Following these convictions, he was deported from the US. In 2021, Gonzalez was arrested again in Tarrant County for assault and providing false information to authorities but bonded out of jail, according to Fox 4 News.
Later that year, warrants were issued for his arrest. By 2023, Arlington police had issued new warrants for aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott had placed Chox Gonzalez at the top of the "Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List," which included a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest. However, he was apprehended through a law enforcement investigation, so no reward was claimed.
The governor shared the news, stating, “In just 1 week, 2 criminals on Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants list were captured and put behind bars,” alongside a photo of the top 10 list with "captured" printed over Chox Gonzalez's face.
“Texas will not stand by as Biden’s open border policies allow dangerous criminals into our country,” Abbott added.
