During a hearing on Tuesday surrounding details of the Smithsonian, Crockett addressed Professor David Blight, who was testifying in the hearing on behalf of the Democrats. In recent months, Republicans in Congress have taken issue with different "woke" aspects of the Smithsonian museums in Washington, DC.
In her comments, Crockett also claimed that fans were rooting against Argentina, which has a "racist history."
"I want to go back real quick, though, Dr. Blight, because you talked about the World Cup, the World Cup that that captured the imaginations of the entire world when they saw all of these people of color that was playing for all these teams, and ultimately, if you recall, the last two teams, it was Argentina and Spain, and it seemed like the vast majority of the world was rooting for Argentina, or actually against Argentina, right?"
"And why was that? Just give me an explanation if you could guess," she asked
"Spain's had the best team. Maybe that's why they were rooting for them," Blight said in response.
Crockett then claimed, "There's also a racist history that exists as it relates to Argentina," but was then cut off by Chairman Tim Burchett of the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency.
Crockett also took issue with the hearing overall, and called it a "white pride rally disguised as a Congressional hearing.”
“It might be uncomfortable for some people on this committee to hear about the true history of America, and I hate that for them, but facts are facts,” Crockett said.
The final game of the World Cup took place over the weekend, where Spain won against Argentina 1-to-0 in extra time.
