On Sunday night, actor turned painter Jim Carrey revealed his latest work, a very red painting of Texas US Senator Ted Cruz. It was captioned, "Ted Cruz, hellbound class of 2020."

Cruz replied the following day:

"Hey, @JimCarrey, can I get a copy of this for my office?" replied Cruz.

Canadian-born Carrey’s history of attacking prominent Republicans with his art goes back for quite a while now. The first one dates back to March of 2018, which was captioned:  "This is the portrait of a so-called Christian whose only purpose in life is to lie for the wicked. Monstrous!"

Although the woman in the painting was never directly identified by Carrey, many people feel he was depicting the then White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee, who is very open about her Christian faith and does bear a resemblance to the portrait.

Perhaps the most controversial of Carrey's paintings was the one depicting what this time was clearly the face of US President Donald Trump. Trump is shown in a Roman Centurion's garb, hammering a person onto a cross.

The caption states: "Christianity, Trump style: 'Jesus was a loser. A failed carpenter. He's a savior because he was crucified. I like people that weren't crucified.'"

Carrey has yet to respond to Cruz's request for a copy of the picture.
