Vice President Kamala Harris was slammed on social media for a Thanksgiving post showing her cooking with a gas stove in her kitchen after the Biden administration had been trying to ban them.

The picture posted on X featured Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff in a kitchen with several dishes ready to go on the counter and was captioned, “From our family to yours, happy Thanksgiving.”

Users on the platform were quick to point out that behind the couple was a gas stove with a tea kettle on it.

Over the past few months, President Joe Biden’s Department of Energy (DOE) has unveiled new standards to regulate a variety of appliances including gas stoves, refrigerators, air conditioners, and clothes washers.

According to the DOE, appliance regulations will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 2.4 billion metric tons over the next 30 years and save Americans $570 billion.

Earlier this year, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT), warned in a letter to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm that the proposed regulations would ban up to 96 percent of the gas-powered stoves currently available to Americans.

Daines noted in the letter that the DOE admits that only 4 percent of the gas stoves on the market would meet the onerous new restrictions. As a result, the vast majority of products would be banned from being sold.

The Biden administration has been slammed for moving ahead with a gas stove ban after ridiculing those claiming they were trying to implementing it.
