Comedy duo Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice are back for a pandemic special, titled "Paldemic." The 23 minute long special is streaming online on CBC Gem.

Hotz and Rice are childhood friends who rose to fame via "Kenny vs. Spenny,"  a reality competition show. The show involved various competitions, pinning the two against each other.

"Who can smoke the most weed?" or "First one to get a boner loses" are just a few examples of the raunchy and overall, pointless competitions these two Canadians partook in. The loser of these competitions would suffer a humiliation, which would often involve incredibly embarrassing displays or disgusting acts.

The show garnered a cult following and has continued to get millions of views even after its last episode aired in 2010. The entirety of the series is currently available on Kenny Hotz' YouTube channel. What made the show so popular was the duo. Kenny is a comedic prankster who would cheat in almost every single episode, and subsequently win. Spenny is the straight man who is highly moralistic, and is often the loser of the competitions.

The Canadian duo debuted live shows following the end of KvS in 2010. They have toured all over Canada in the past decade and are now reviving their on-screen relationship in "Paldemic." This special is just one episode, but has seemingly riled up the fanbase, which has actively begged for a seventh season to their show. Despite the demand, the seventh season never came. This may be due to the controversial nature of the show, which has led to Kenny vs. Spenny being cancelled multiple times in the past.

Nonetheless, the duo always managed the persevere and come back. The six seasons of KvS have all been viewed millions of times from fans. As far as made-in-Canada comedy goes, these two are among the most beloved.

It remains to be seen whether "Paldemic" turns into a seventh season of KvS or something entirely new.

"Paldemic" is now streaming on CBC Gem.
