The Let’s Go Brandon store chain in New England is reporting great sales weeks after it was first established to sell anti-Biden merchandise.
Speaking to Fox Business, store owner Keith Lambert announced plans to expand his business to Salisbury and Cape Cod, MA, increasing his locations from eight to 10 to keep up with surging demand in merchandise critical of President Joe Biden.
"A customer came into one of our locations [Tuesday] and bought a Let’s Go Brandon sticker and went out to his car and stuck it over his Biden sticker," Lambert told Fox Business. "And that was it, he was just like, ‘I’m done with this guy.’"
"People have buyer’s remorse," he said. "Business is very, very good right now."
The phrase, “Let’s Go Brandon” first took off after an NBC sports journalist at a NASCAR game was interviewing driver Brandon Brown. When the crowd in the background chanted “f*** Joe Biden,” the journalist remarked that the spectators in the stands were actually chanting “Let’s Go Brandon.” Her remarks prompted the video to go viral.
At the time of the meme’s birth, Lambert’s stores were named New England for Trump, but he decided to rebrand as Let’s Go Brandon by first renaming one of his stores in Hanson, MA to the phrase. Its success spurred the owner to open a new location in North Attleboro. He then rebranded the rest of his chain to Let’s Go Brandon.
According to Fox Business, Lambert has locations in Bellingham, East Bridgewater, Somerset, Easton, and Warwick, Rhode Island. He also has a pop-up stand that carries the merchandise.
Lambert told the news organization that while community reception has been largely positive, he still receives negative reviews every now and then, including a recent death threat upon him and his family.
"For the most part, it hasn’t been bad," he said. "I don’t take them seriously."
Lambert told Fox that his issues with Biden stem from his disastrous withdrawal of Afghanistan, which claimed the lives of 13 service members, and the border crisis.
As for his long term business prospects, Lambert says that he’s not too worried as “there’s always going to be something that upsets the left.”
