President Joe Biden recently suggested that Trump's Department of Homeland Security had made it harder for the current administration to control situation at the border. Former DHS Secretary Chad Wolf fired back.
According to the Daily Wire, in a recent interview with The Today Show, Biden suggested that the "department refused to share information with Biden’s transition team, leaving a mess for Biden’s administration to clean up after he took office."
In a tweet on Friday, former Department of Homeland Security Chad Wolf criticized the president's claims, calling allegations that Trump is to blame "a pure lie". He pointed out that the Biden administration is "looking for any reason to explain the crisis they created", adding that the department "briefed the transition team numerous, numerous times."
As the Daily Wire reports, Biden also suggested that Trump had fired many members of the DHS and the Department of Defense, leaving both departments understaffed. Wolf responded, saying "Someone might want to remind the Admin that firing a federal employee is near impossible."
The situation on the United States' southern border has been dire, however it was only recently that President Biden even used the word crisis to define it.
The Biden administration's handling of the crisis has drawn criticism from many, especially Republican leaders of border states, who point out that Vice President Kamala Harris, who has been tasked with dealing with the problem, has not even visited the area.
According to a recent poll from CNN, 78% said that what was happening at the border is a crisis. It also found that 65% disapprove of the current administration's handling of the situation.
