Massachusetts mime stalker charged after stripping to his underwear, covering himself in cooking oil: police

A Massachusetts man who dresses up as a mime and allegedly stalked women repeatedly at a state park near Boston has been arrested. 29-year-old Hernan Villagran Lux has been charged with criminal harassment after being arrested on Sunday night on the Cochituate Rail Trail.

He faces three counts of criminal harassment after three female state Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) employees reported dozens of encounters with him over the past two months at Cochituate State Park. One of the women reported over 50 encounters, with the incidents escalating over time, according to a report by Fox News.

The women said they knew Lux by name, as he would repeatedly approach them, stare at them, and refuse to leave despite repeated requests. Framingham District Court Supervisor Andrew Mange said at the court hearing on Monday that "The women report an extensive number of contacts with the defendant involving him staring at them, smiling in what they describe as 'a really unnerving and frankly terrifying manner.'”

In one incident, Lux allegedly stripped down to his underwear, slathering himself in cooking oil, then working out near the staff area of the park, according to prosecutors. In another instance, Lux complimented an employee’s appearance, including a remark about her lips, then refused to leave when asked, prompting the woman and her coworkers to leave their work out of fear for their safety.

Additionally, local reports have revealed that numerous people on social media say they have spotted a man matching Lux’s appearance who approached and followed them. One neighbor told Boston 25, “I spotted him, he looked kind of odd but I thought he was just dressed in a costume.”

Lux reportedly fainted as prosecutors read his allegations in court on Monday. The judge ordered he face a mental health evaluation.
