Michele Tafoya polling dead even with 'trans kids' enthusiast Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota Senate race

The Minnesota Senate race between Republican Michele Tafoya and Democrat Peggy Flanagan remains a closely contested battle. Multiple consecutive polls have shown the candidates just points apart from each other, within the margin of error.

A recent InsiderAdvantage poll of 1,200 likely voters conducted September 28-29 found Flanagan leading Tafoya 46 percent to 45 percent, a one-point difference within the poll's 2.95 percentage-point margin of error.

“This survey is unusual in that it goes against many of the trends we are seeing in other Senate contests. It appears that the decrease in popularity of Governor Tim Walz, combined with the growing evidence of fraud in the state are taking a toll on the DFL nominee,”  InsiderAdvantage pollster Matt Towery said in a memo about the poll.

“Tafoya does extremely well with men and Flanagan is losing every age group other than the youngest of voters, who in the poll have a significant ‘enthusiasm about voting’ gap versus other age groups who are more enthusiastic,” Towery added.

According to a report by Alpha News, this is the fifth consecutive poll showing the candidates within the margin of error. Three other polls had Flanagan leading by +2, +4, and +1. A fourth had the pair tied at 42 percent each. 

Tafoya has focused her campaign on the continued allegations of fraud in Minnesota that have taken place under Lieutenant Governor Flanagan and Governor Tim Walz. Her efforts to take the Senate seat come despite Minnesota not electing a Republican to the Senate since 2002.

“We’ve got a clean house, and it’s going to start with the top of the ticket, and that’s the US Senate, where people are,” Tafoya told Fox News earlier this month. “We’re now in a toss-up race here in Minnesota. We’ve been trending in the right direction, and that is good news for all of us and for the US Senate.”
