Minnesota mom Shiloh Hendrix was at a Rochester, Minn., park earlier this week with her toddler when she was recorded by a man after an alleged confrontation with another child. Afterwards, the video went viral, she was doxxed, and then launched a fundraiser that has since taken in over $250,000.

The man who was filming her is TikToker @dahab.soomaale, a Somali man, who posted the encounter on his TikTok page. Hendrix called dahab.soomaale the n-word when taunted to do so, and said she called the other child, a toddler, the slur as well after he "took [her] son's stuff."

The Root called Hendrix a "playground Karen" while dahab.soomaale said she was guilty of "hate speech," and said, "you can be recorded for that. We'll see what the internet has to say about you." There are no "hate speech" laws in Minnesota.

"You call him a n*ggr, a child?" dahab.soomaale asks in accented English. "Did you call the child the n-word?"

"The f*ck you talking about," Hendrix replies. "Mind your f*cking business."

Dahab.soomaale insists "It is my business. Did you call him that?" Hendrix flips him off and when he taunts her to say it again, she does, calling him the name as well. She explains that the other child "took [her] son's stuff."

Dahab.soomaale asks her if that's reason enough to lash out with name-calling and Hendrix replied, "If he acts like one then he’s going to be called one." It was after the video went viral that Hendrix was identified and criticised across social media.

Local NAACP President Wale Elegbede said "We will hold this person accountable for this despicable racist act against a child." The Rochester branch of the group said they intended to respond to the incident.

After the incident, Hendrix launched a GiveSendGo online fundraiser. She explained what happened, saying she has "been put into a very dire situation."

"I recently had a kid steal from my 18-month-old son's diaper bag at a park. I called the kid out for what he was. Another man, who we recently found out has had a history with law enforcement, proceeded to record me and follow me to my car. He then posted these videos online which has caused my family, and myself, great turmoil. My SSN has been leaked. My address, and phone number have been given out freely. My family members are being attacked. My eldest child may not be going back to school. Even where I exercise has been exposed," she writes.

"I am asking for your help to assist in protecting my family," she continues. "I fear that we must relocate. I have two small children who do not deserve this. We have been threatened to the extreme by people online. Anything will help! We cannot, and will not live in fear!"
