Utah Sen. Mitt Romney’s office announced that the Republican senator has tested positive for COVID-19 late Friday.

Utah Sen. Mitt Romney’s office announced that the Republican senator has tested positive for COVID-19 late Friday.

Romney, who is fully vaccinated and boosted, does not have symptoms, his office stated. According to the politician’s office, Romney’s wife Ann, 72, tested negative. She is also fully vaccinated and boosted.

“Senator Romney tested positive today for COVID-19” Romney’s office announced.

“He is currently asymptomatic and will be isolating and working remotely for the recommended period of time. Mrs. Romney has tested negative. Both Senator and Mrs. Romney have been fully vaccinated and boosted against the virus.”

Romney, 74, was the Republican nominee in the 2012 race against President Barack Obama.

He is one of dozens of congressmen and U.S. Senators to test positive for the coronavirus in recent months despite being fully vaccinated and boosted against it.
