Montreal officials said that the concert ran contrary to the values of the city, and now they are hitting the church with a $2,500 fine. During the worship service, a group of Antifa agitators gathered around the building, and someone threw a smoke bomb at Feucht during the performance.
A spokesman for the Mayor of Montreal, Valerie Plant,e claimed that the private Ministerios Restauracion Church in Montreal needed a permit to hold the event with Feucht, and will be fined for the concert
“This show runs counter to the values of inclusion, solidarity, and respect that are championed in Montreal. Freedom of expression is one of our fundamental values, but hateful and discriminatory speech is not acceptable in Montreal,” Philippe Masse said in a statement, according to the National Post. "A ticket was issued because the organization violated the regulations by going ahead with the show.”
Feucht responded to the fine on X, "Let me get this right Montréal: 1) You canceled our permit for a peaceful outdoor worship gather for no reason. 2) You threatened a CHURCH on private property to not have church. 3) You send a battalion of police to intimidate us. 4) Antifa throws 2 smoke bombs at my head inside the church - you do nothing! 5) Now you want fine the church for doing what the church does - WORSHIP. Every Canadian should be embarrassed/concerned with this. No bigger scandal in Canada."
Despite the city claiming that the church needed a permit, the protests happening outside the church, as well as the smoke bomb attack, the service went on anyway.
The show in Montreal has become the latest flashpoint in opposition against Feucht, as he has had concerts canceled or has been denied a permit to perform in Halifax, Charlottetown, Moncton, and Quebec City.
Feucht has spoken out against gender ideology, abortion, and has been a supporter of President Trump.
