A national survey conducted by Maru Public Opinion found that a majority of Canadians believe that truckers should be allowed entry into the country without a COVID vaccine.

The polling found that just 36 percent said truckers need to  be fully vaccinated to enter.

36 percent said that truckers could be unvaccinated, but should require a negative COVID test for entry. 28 percent said that no restrictions should apply to truckers.

"Just over one-third (36%) of Canadians are hard fast that only truckers who are fully vaccinated should be allowed to cross over the US/Canada border to deliver food, goods, and other materials to various Canadian destinations. Those who are most likely to support this measure reside in Manitoba/Saskatchewan (43%), followed by those living in Québec (38%) and British Columbia (38%), Ontario (37%), Atlantic Canada (30%), and Alberta (25%)," the pollster said in its report.

Additionally: "More than one-third (36%) of Canadians believe unvaccinated truckers should only be allowed to cross the US/Canadian border to deliver food, goods, and materials to various Canadian destinations if they show proof of the results of a negative COVID test taken within the previous 72 hours.

"Those most likely to support this measure reside equally in Alberta (40%),
Manitoba/Saskatchewan (40%), and Atlantic Canada (40%), followed by those living in British Columbia (37%), Québec (35%), and Ontario (34%)."

This poll was conducted on January 24, 2022, by Maru/Blue of 1519 randomly selected Canadian adults who are Maru Voice Canada online panelists. For comparison purposes, a probability sample of this size has an estimated margin of error (which measures sampling variability) of +/- 2.5%, 19 times out of 20.
