On Sunday's episode of Meet the Press, GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel thanked NBC host Kristen Welker for being a moderator of the third Republican Presidential debate.

In the segment, McDaniel said to Welker, "Thank you for being a part of that, because this is the time where we met the moment."

During the debate, GOP presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called out both the left-wing news organization and McDaniel in his opening statement.

Talking about the failures of the GOP with McDaniel as chair, Ramaswamy said, "There is something deeper going on in the Republican Party." He continued, "We've become a party of losers... Let's speak the truth. Since Ronna McDaniel took over as chairwoman of the RNC in 2017, we have lost 2018, 2020, 2022 no red wave, that never came. We got trounced last night [Tuesday] in 2023."

"I think we have to have accountability in our party," Ramaswamy added. "For that matter Ronna, if you want to come on stage, you want to look the GOP voters in the eye, and tell them you resign ... I will yield my time to you."

Ramaswamy then shifted his attention to the moderators of the debate hosted by NBC. "Think about who is moderating this debate. This should be Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, and Elon Musk," he said.

"We'd have 10 times the viewership, asking questions the GOP primary voters actually care about," Ramaswamy continued. "We have Kristen Welker here. Do you think the Democrats would actually hire Greg Gutfeld to host a Democratic debate?" He went on to call out the network as a "corrupt media establishment" that pushed the "Trump-Russia collusion hoax."

"The Trump-Russia collusion hoax that you pushed on this network for years, was that real, or was that made-up disinformation?" Ramaswamy asked Welker. "Go."

In a post from Friday, Ramaswamy responded to the Post Millennial's question if she should resign. He said, "Ronna McRomney sitting atop the RNC reminds me of a squatter in a rent-controlled apartment. It’s time to evict."

Human Events senior contributor Charlie Kirk was among others who also called for the GOP to fire the chairwoman. In a post on X, he said, "Fire: Ronna McDaniel, Hire: Vivek Ramaswamy or Harmeet Dhillon."

Other influential conservatives such as Steve Bannon also called for McDaniel to resign after the debate. Sources close to McDaniel in the audience reported to Timcast that she called Ramaswamy an "a**hole," and said he would not get "one cent" from the RNC. Charlie Kirk said that McDaniel has "broke[n] a sacred RNC rule - not getting involved in primaries."
