Charli XCX is being considered for a role in Netflix’s upcoming Narnia movie, directed by Greta Gerwig. This news comes on the same day she was announced as a performer for Glastonbury.

Sources say she is one of the top choices for a key role, but no deal has been made yet. If she joins, she could play Jadis, The White Witch, reports Deadline.

Netflix first announced plans for new Narnia movies and shows in 2018. Gerwig was hired in 2020 to direct. The film is still in early stages, but it is set to have a two-week IMAX release in November 2026 before streaming on Netflix.

ScreenRant reports that "the rumors regarding Charli XCX's casting suggest that she is being considered to play Jadis the White Witch in Gerwig's Narnia movies. This would make the most sense, and it's certainly exciting to imagine the edgy singer as Narnia's coldest villain.

"There have also been hints that Gerwig will start with C.S. Lewis' prequel, The Magician's Nephew, rather than the traditional The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This would mean that Charli XCX could be playing a version of the White Witch at her inception, which has yet to be seen on screen. This would be perfectly fitting for her acting debut."

Gerwig’s last movie, Barbie, was a huge success, making $1.44 billion. It also won an Oscar for the song What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish and Finneas. Charli XCX’s song Speed Drive was also part of the Barbie soundtrack. It is not clear if she would contribute music to Narnia.

Charli XCX recently won five Brit Awards. She has been taking on more film projects, with upcoming roles in The Gallerist, Sacrifice, and I Want Your Sex.
