Following the news that President Biden would be sitting out the annual pregame Super Bowl interview for the second year in a row, 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump said he would be "happy" to replace Biden, and that the interview would be "ratings gold."

"Crooked Joe Biden has just announced that he will not be doing the big Super Bowl interview. A great decision, he can’t put two sentences together. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPLACE HIM - would be 'RATINGS GOLD!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

According to Politico, this is the second year that Biden has sat out the interview, which was embraced by recent presidents.

The outlet noted that previous presidents have sought to leverage the interview, which is seen by millions of viewers, but Biden’s decision to skip is notable as 2024 is an election year.

Ben LaBolt, a White House spokesman, said "We hope viewers enjoy watching what they tuned in for — the game."
