Sources familiar with the situation revealed to NBC News that during a private retreat last weekend, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis expressed his intention to assist in fundraising for Donald Trump's presidential campaign to donors and supporters.

“He did say it in front of a group of people at the Hard Rock,” an advisor to DeSantis told NBC.

This occurred at a gathering on Saturday at the Hard Rock Casino and Resort near Miami.

The advisor stressed that when Ron DeSantis withdrew his presidential candidacy in, he made a commitment to support Republicans at all levels, including the presidential level.

In an interview on Wednesday, Texas entrepreneur Roy Bailey, who previously served as a co-chair of DeSantis' national finance advisory board, stated his intention to assist in fundraising for Trump, just as he did in 2020.

“I will follow the governor’s lead and I will do anything that he or President Trump ask me to do to help him win this election. I know where there are DeSantis supporters all over Texas and all over the country that will want to help President Trump. So that’s what I’ll try to make happen,” Bailey said.

Most bundlers gathered at the event indicated that they would follow DeSantis' lead.

DeSantis endorsed Trump after dropping out of the race in January, saying "[Trump] has my endorsement because we can't go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear, a repackaged form or warmed over corporatism that Nikki Haley represents."
