On Monday, it was revealed that Donald Trump will be a speaker at Turning Point Action's upcoming summer event.
TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk confirmed that the former president would headline "The People's Convention," which is set to take place June 14-16 in Detroit, Michigan.
"Turning Point Action is thrilled to announce PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP as our confirmed headline speaker at THE PEOPLE'S CONVENTION 2024," Kirk wrote in a post on X, referring to the event as "the summer convention where everyone is invited."
“There is no better time than now to register for the biggest event of the summer!” he added.
Reaction to the announcement was positive, with prospective attendees expressing their excitement.
"Heck yeah! Registering people to vote is paramount," one user wrote, "and Trump's presence will only help with that endeavor. We need a landslide victory in November. Can't leave anything to chance."
Another said it was "awesome news."
"Featuring the most prominent names in the movement, a straw poll, thousands of attendees from all 50 states, dozens of sponsoring organizations, and, preceding the RNC by a month- The People’s Convention will serve as the natural focal point of the national conservative political movement ahead of the 2024 election," TP Action wrote of the event on its website. "Attendees will leave equipped with the tools, knowledge, and network to lead their communities and win in November!"
As of now, only Trump and Kirk have been confirmed as speakers, however the full list is expected to be released soon.
