President Donald Trump on Monday said that the Houthi terrorists in Yemen will be subject to more attacks from the United States until the Houthis "are no longer a threat to Freedom of Navigation" in the region.

Trump posted to Truth Social, "The Iran-backed Houthi Terrorists have been decimated by the relentless strikes over the past two weeks. Many of their Fighters and Leaders are no longer with us. We hit them every day and night — Harder and harder."

"Their capabilities that threaten Shipping and the Region are rapidly being destroyed. Our attacks will continue until they are no longer a threat to Freedom of Navigation. The choice for the Houthis is clear: Stop shooting at US ships, and we will stop shooting at you. Otherwise, we have only just begun, and the real pain is yet to come, for both the Houthis and their sponsors in Iran," Trump added.

Houthi terrorists have been attacking shipping vessels in the Red Sea for over a year, and access to the waterway as well as the Suez Canal to transport goods between eastern Asia and Europe has been key to keep costs of shipping down.

Without access to the canal, some ships have been forced to travel around the horn of Africa instead of through the canal, however, the Trump administration has started targeting the terrorists in Yemen.

Earlier this month, the US carried out an attack on the Houthis in Yemen, killing a number of the terrorists. Then on Monday morning, more US strikes on the Houthis were reported. When former President Joe Biden entered office, he took them off of the terror list one day after assuming the presidency. He only redesignated them as terrorist in after they started attacking shipments in the Red Sea in January 2024.
