“I would love to see his phone records, to see whether he was talking to Putin the day that the insurgents invaded our capitol,” Clinton said.
While interviewing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Monday, Former Secretary of State, First Lady, and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said that President Donald Trump's phone records should be examined to see if he called Russian President Vladimir Putin during the riot at the US Capitol on Jan. 6.
Clinton had House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on her podcast "You and Me Both" and suggested that Trump was colluding with Putin during the riot.
"I would love to see his phone records, to see whether he was talking to Putin the day that the insurgents invaded our capitol. But we all know that not just him, his enablers, his accomplices, his cult members, have the same disregard for democracy," Clinton said.
.@SpeakerPelosi and I agree:
Congress needs to establish an investigative body like the 9/11 Commission to determine Trump's ties to Putin so we can repair the damage to our national security and prevent a puppet from occupying the presidency ever again. pic.twitter.com/yR7LQmXm5Z

Clinton followed up the baseless accusation by suggesting that a "9/11 type commission" should be created "to investigate and report everything that they can pull together" on the Capitol riot.
Pelosi agreed with Clinton's suggestion and added that "all roads lead to Putin." This despite a well publicized and politicized investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller that found there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Allegations still remain of impropriety regarding the Clinton Foundation and a deal involving Russian mining company, Uranium One.
After two years, two congressional investigations, and now the closure of a Special Counsel investigation, it is abundantly clear, without a shadow of a doubt, there was no collusion. This case is closed. My full statement: pic.twitter.com/XiPQZom3Fp

Pelosi continued by calling the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, which cost the lives of five people, two of whom were killed violently, "a gift to Putin because Putin wants to undermine democracy in our country and throughout the world." She then called the rioters at the Capitol "Putin puppets."
