Malik Fard Muhammad — serving 10 years for multiple counts of attempted murder and explosive attacks during Portland’s 2020 riots — celebrated Charlie Kirk’s killing and urged political violence in blog posts from prison.
The most violent BLM-Antifa militant convicted in Portland’s 2020 riots has been revealed to have celebrated the assassination of Charlie Kirk and urged more political violence in writings apparently produced from prison.
“Charlie Kirk was a direct threat to us, and he has been dispensed,” wrote inmate Malik Fard Muhammad in a Sept. 26 blog post on a site run by his Antifa comrades. “We’ve had the ballot since the ’60s and it hasn’t changed a thing. The bullet is much quicker and more effective — gratifying, too.”
Muhammad — a self-described anarchist, “antifascist” and abolitionist — is serving a ten-year sentence in a state prison in eastern Oregon. He was convicted on multiple state and federal charges, including attempted murder, riot, assault, unlawful firearm possession and possession/manufacture of destructive devices.

Supporters continue to promote Muhammad as a political prisoner and help operate his “Malik Speaks!” blog, where posts express praise for political violence. The entries appear to be transcribed from letters or recorded communications sent from prison.

“My name is Malik Farrad Muhammad,” one post reads. “I’m a 26-year-old black/Palestinian pansexual Muslim… I’m an anarchist antifascist, anti-racist abolitionist.”
Investigators said Muhammad traveled from Indianapolis to Portland during the 2020 riots after receiving terrorism training in Louisville. Over the course of four separate riots in September and October, he allegedly distributed bats to rioters and threw Molotov-style explosives toward police. One device exploded and severely burned another rioter.

Prosecutors said the bottles were used to construct incendiary devices. McGuire later converted to Islam during the relationship. This is a phenomenon often seen with non-Muslim women who partner with Muslim violent extremists.

On Oct. 11, 2020, Muhammad joined a crowd that smashed windows at the Oregon Historical Society museum, Portland State University and other targets. When police closed in, he attempted to discard and hide his illegal firearm.

Before arriving in Portland, Muhammad had traveled to Louisville in August 2020. During the investigation leading to his arrest, investigators discovered he had a cache of weapons that included bomb components, multiple firearms and ammunition. His social-media accounts featured Antifa propaganda and threats toward police across several cities, according to federal filings.
In March 2022, Muhammad pleaded guilty to 14 Oregon felony charges. He later pleaded guilty to two federal counts of having unregistered destructive devices. Under a sweetheart plea agreement, his federal sentence runs concurrently with the state sentence.

His original state bail — set at $2.1 million on attempted-murder charges — was covered after Antifa-aligned networks crowdfunded the money. The Portland Freedom Fund coordinated the bail effort.
Antifa fundraise cash for Malik Muhammad
Since his incarceration, the Portland General Defense Committee has continued rallying support for Muhammad. The group raised $1.4 million during the 2020 riots and is registered to Katherine Belyea, a transgender Antifa militant found civilly liable for assaulting this journalist in 2019. Antifa have also organized riots to support him.

An Antifa riot was organized to support Malik Muhammad
Muhammad’s writings from prison — including his praise of Kirk’s killing and advocacy of “the bullet” over the ballot — underscore how Antifa’s most violent figures are celebrated as heroes to emulate.
A Snake River Correctional Institution spokesperson said Muhammad’s posts were forwarded to the prison’s executive team for review. Despite that, his blog announced on Dec. 13 that he had been transferred to the general-population Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution in Pendleton, Ore.
“This is a tremendous relief, as they now have fuller access to communications, mail, and possessions, as well as more opportunities for participating in activities and social engagements,” the blog celebrated.
