Antifa attempts to block truck convoy en route to Ottawa, fails

The truck convoy was organized by "United We Roll Convoy for Canada".

According to the group's website the convoy has crossed into Ontario and is expected to arrive in Ottawa on February 19th.

"We are in favour of pipelines to move our products in the oil and gas sector to the rest of Canada as well as the rest of the world. We are apposed to the current format of the carbon tax as well as the UN impact on Canadian boarders," reads the groups' GoFundMe page.

Since the donations began a month ago, the group has received well over $88,000 since the time of this article's writing.

The convoy was organized by Glen Carritt, an operations manager of Oilfield Paramedics Fire & Safety Inc. in Innisfail, Alberta.

The convoy left Red Deer, Alberta on February 14th and includes several dozen heavy trucks.

Supporters, including members of Canada's own Yellow Vest movement, have come out in droves in support of the convoy.

While the convoy has received overwhelming support, some groups have come out in opposition to the movement and its principles.

One Antifa protestor is depicted in the video holding a banner that reads "NO LINES EXPANSION, SHUT IT DOWN".

It appears that the antifa attempted to block the road so the convoy wouldn't be able to proceed but the police were able to keep them off to one side while the convoy passed unhindered.

If everything goes according to plan, the convoy is expected to reach Ottawa on February 19th, where local officials have made arrangements to expect their arrival.
