Antifa rioter smashes Portland Federal Courthouse door with hammer before assaulting police officer

The Portland Police took to Twitter in the early hours, tweeting out details about the attack. Police noted that the Antifa militant smashed a hole in the door with a hammer. When officers exited the building, one was deliberately struck in the head and shoulder with the hammer. One arrest was made, and police were forced to deploy pepper spray and CS gas to quell the siege.

The riot was inspired by false rumors of a white supremacist shooting the previous day, with a post of the attack.

Protests and riots have surged on for over 40 days straight amid the death of George Floyd.

This attack followed the false report that a white supremacist had carried out an attack on a black man, which ended in the victim being killed by gunshot.
