WATCH: Biden says those who believe Tara Reade ‘probably shouldn’t vote for me’

This was his response when asked what he would say to women who say they believe Tara Reade’s allegations of sexual assault against him.

Biden was on a special edition of Lawrence O’Donnell’s “The Last Word on MSNBC,” which also featured one-time Democratic Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. Her latest mission is voter access and safety, and she is believed to be on the short list of considerations to be Biden's vice presidential running mate.

Biden went on to say that Reade’s story has suffered from problems of inconsistency, and that there was no truth in her story.

When asked if he remembered Reade, he said “I don’t.”

Biden said that “when a woman makes a claim that she has been harassed or abused, and this claim has changed as it's gone on, but harassed and abused, she should be taken seriously. She should come forward to share her story, she should be taken seriously. And it should be thoroughly vetted. And in every case what matters is the truth, the truth is what matters. And the truth of the case is that nothing like this ever, ever happened.”

O’Donnell brought up a recent op ed in The New York Times, wherein Linda Hirshman said that she believed Reade’s account over Biden’s denial. It was in response to this question that Biden said that those who believe Reade shouldn’t vote for him.

Joe Biden has been working hard to make noise during this peculiar election season, recording podcasts and conducting interviews from his home in Delaware.

The campaign trail isn’t quite so easy this year, but Biden has been making the rounds of news interview shows to make sure he can get his message across. He has been hammering Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic, and advocating for sea changes with regard to how the US approaches climate change.

Biden has continued to deny Reade's allegations and push for the truth. He has come under substantial fire for what appears to be the hypocrisy of his participation in the Me Too and Believe All Women movements in the face of Reade’s insistence that she suffered a sexual assault at his hands.
