WATCH: Black Lives Matter leader rationalizes looting by saying the US ‘steals’ and ‘pillages different countries’

Newsome spoke with host Martha MacCallum to talk about former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's assertion that BLM is a domestic terrorist organization, according to Fox News.

Newsome took exception to MacCallum attempting to justify Giuliani's words by saying he was talking about the looters as opposed to those peacefully protesting.

"So when America goes and steals diamonds and oils, who's calling us terrorists?" Newsome asked. "When the American government goes and pillages different countries, who's calling us terrorists?"

MacCallum then proceeded to address the ridiculous remarks made by Chicago BLM activist Ariel Atkins, who suggested that looting goods was merely a form of reparations, saying: "If somebody decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy's or a Nike because that makes sure that that person eats, that makes sure that person has clothes, that's reparations. That is reparations. Anything they want to take, take it, because these businesses have insurance. They're gonna get their money back. My people aren't getting anything."

Newsome justified Atkins' sentiment by saying it is an outgrowth of white supremacy to criticize looting. "The problem with oppression and white supremacy is, white supremacy will have you criticizing the oppressed and worshiping the oppressors," he said. "Now, if you want to talk to me about reparations, nothing falls short of a solution other than people cutting a check. If you want to do something about reparations, cut the check."

"And we're not talking about going in everyday Americans' pockets," he added. "We're talking about banks like Brown Brothers Harriman, who benefited from slavery. Other insurance companies that sold insurance policies on slaves. We're talking about the American government that was founded on the backs of slaves."

When MacCallum asked Newsome if he thought it was "ethically okay" to loot stores like Gucci and others mentioned by Atkins, he avoided the question by responding with: "Before I answer that, I want to ask you this," Newsome responded. "Do you think it's okay that our government kills people in their homes like Breonna Taylor?"

"No I don't think that's okay. Of course, I don't think that's okay," MacCallum shot back.

Newsome came under fire in late June for saying that "if this country doesn’t give us what we want then we will burn down the system and replace it—I can be speaking figuratively, I can be speaking literally."

This snagged the attention of President Donald Trump, who tweeted: "Black Lives Matter leader states, “If U.S. doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it”. This is Treason, Sedition, Insurrection!"

Newsome continued: "But it seems to be the hypocrisy of America that when black people start talking about arming themselves and defending themselves, [that] talk is ‘violent.’ But when white people grab assault rifles and go to our nation’s, their state capitals, it’s all good."
