At least three are dead and multiple others injured after several vehicles pulled up to a Kendall, Florida, graduation party and began firing, ABC 7 reported.
According to Miami-Dade Police director Freddy Ramirez, the shooting occurred at around 2 a.m. in a hookah lounge restaurant located in a strip mall.
Ramirez said that two vehicles pulled up to the hookah lounge and one of the two vehicles began to open fire on people leaving the lounge.
According to police, two men and a woman were killed, and at least five others, three men and two women, were injured and transported to the hospital in private vehicles. Those who were injured are in stable condition.
Police say that the woman who was killed was a Florida corrections officer.
Authorities are searching for a dark-colored Chevrolet Malibu and a white Toyota Camry that witness say they say speeding away from the scene. One car driving two victims who died from gunshot wounds reportedly crashed into a wall near the Kendall campus of Miami Dade College. Police recovered a firearm from the vehicle, but say it's unclear whether it was involved in the shooting.
"This violence has to stop. This is completely frustrating. Every weekend is the same thing," Ramirez said. "We've got to stop it here in Miami-Dade County. We've got other victims and their families that are destroyed over senseless violence, over stupidness, reckless shooting, innocent people getting hit."
"My deepest condolences to those affected by this intentional act of violence," wrote Ramirez on Twitter over the weekend.
