Derek Sloan MP and Randy Hiller MPP have been charged by the police for attending a church service in Aylmer, Ontario.
On top of these two politicians, others have also be charged for attending a church service that police say was breaching lockdown laws, according to CBC News.
The two politicians are scheduled to appear in Elgin County provincial offences court later this year.
The Church of God Restoration held this service in order to protest the government's breach of religious freedom throughout the COVID pandemic.
Both Hillier and Sloan have long been critical of lockdown measures that the provincial and federal governments have taken.
On top of this, the church has also been charged for failing to follow lockdown law. If found guilty, the church could have to pay a fine on $10 million.
Sloan and Hillier, on the other hand, could face fines of up to $100 thousand or even jail time if they are found to be guilty.
