Facebook removed a re-election ad for President Donald Trump on Thursday, citing its policy on hate. The ad campaign, criticized "Dangerous MOBS of far-left groups," specifically targeting Antifa, who frequently form dangerous mobs made up for far-left thugs. It used the image of an upside-down triangle.
According to the widely discredited Anti-Defamation League, the upside down triangle "is practically identical to that used by the Nazi regime to classify political prisoners in concentration camps."
Andy Stone, a Facebook spokesperson, told CNN "We removed these posts and ads for violating our policy against organized hate. Our policy prohibits using a banned hate group's symbol to identify political prisoners without the context that condemns or discusses the symbol."
The Trump campaign defended themselves by saying that the upside-down triangle was a "symbol widely used by Antifa."
Last year, Trump said he was considering declaring Antifa a terrorist group, calling them "gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats."
