While speaking with reporters in the White House on Thursday following a fatal shooting of a woman who attempted to run over an ICE agent in Minneapolis the day prior, Vice President JD Vance revealed that the agent at the center of the incident had been dragged by a car less than a year ago.
After criticizing left-wing outlets for their coverage of the incident, including CNN, Vance said, "The way that the media by and large has reported this story has been an absolute disgrace, and it puts our law enforcement officers at risk every single day. What that headline leaves out is the fact that that very ice officer nearly had his life ended, dragged by a car six months ago, 33 stitches in his leg. So you think maybe he's a little bit sensitive about somebody ramming him with an automobile."

Per CNY Central, illegal immigrant Roberto Carlos, a convicted child sex offender, attempted to flee federal law enforcement during a traffic stop in Bloomington, Minnesota in June. The agent was struck by Carlos and dragged 300 feet, receiving significant cuts that required stitches.
Carlos was convicted in December of assault on a federal officer with a dangerous and deadly weapon which caused bodily injury.
