A man and woman have been charged after breaking the federal quarantine law and attending a rally in Toronto less than two weeks after returning to Canada.
Toronto police say Christopher Saccoccia, 37, flew into Pearson International Airport after travelling abroad with another individual, Jennifer Saccoccia.
Police say Christopher then attended a rally with 500 other non-mask wearing people less than two weeks after arriving in Canada.
Christopher and Jennifer have both been charged with failure to comply with an order prohibiting or subjecting to any condition of the Entry into Canada.
They are scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, November 12, 2020. The charges are the first of their kind by Toronto police for breaking the Quarantine Act.
The charges are that on Sept. 20, a couple came into Canada via Pearson International Airport in Toronto, at which time they were required to spend two weeks in quarantine.
Six days later, on Sept. 26, the man was seen in the area of Yonge-Dundas Square. At that time, he was issued a Provincial Offenses Notice for Failure to Comply with a Quarantine Act Order.
The two were cited again on Oct. 3, where they were seen at an ant-mask rally attended by 500 people who were not wearing masks. The following Monday, Toronto Police served the couple with an Appearance Notice.

Saccoccia has made headlines before for his anti-mask antics. Months ago, Saccoccia recorded himself attempting to get into a supermarket, again maskless, and pushing through an employee.
Saccoccia then had security called on him, though he was not charged.
