BREAKING: Poilievre returns to finance critic position in Conservative shadow cabinet reshuffle

During the pandemic, Poilievre was moved to the shadow minister for jobs and industry, in what many saw as a demotion, despite his enormous popularity in the party. Throughout the recent election campaign, many keen observers noted how Poilievre distanced himself from O'Toole and dropped Conservative Party HQ imagery from his reelection material.

It is unclear whether Poilievre's reappointment constitutes a truce between him and the leader.

On top of Poilievre's reappointment, BC MP Ed Fast has been shifted to innovation, science, and industry.

Another popular Conservative, Michelle Rempel Garner, has been appointed as the minister for natural resources.

The Quebec-based MP Luc Berthold has been named shadow minister of health in Garner's place, while rising start Melissa Lantsman has been named shadow minister for transport.

The most notable absences from the shadow cabinet include Leslyn Lewis and Marilyn Gladu who have become unpopular in the OLO over vaccine comments. Shannon Stubbs, who was the former shadow minister for public safety, has also been dropped from the shadow cabinet.

Since the election, Poilievre has been the most vocal MP aside from the leader. Poilievre attacked Trudeau's cabinet as the most expensive ever, saying that inflation with continue to rise under the prime minister.
