On Friday, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani pleaded not guilty to RICO charges brought forth by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Willis alleges that he and others attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.
According to Fox 5, Giuliani also waived his right to appear at an arraignment hearing set for September 6.
Giuliani, in doing such, has joined Trump and at least 10 others in forgoing appearing before the judge.
Giuliani was indicted on 13 counts, including violation of the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
Speaking after he was booked at the Fulton County Jail last week, Giuliani said, "This indictment is a travesty. This is an attack on the American people."
In a court filing announcing Giuliani’s plea, it said that "due to the complexity, breadth, and volume of the 98-page indictment, and absent a scheduling order granting additional time, Mr. Giuliani also requests at least 30 days after recipt of all discovery to file particularized motions in this matter."
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
