California Democrats have come under scrutiny following the release of a video showing state legislators dancing to Usher's 2004 hit song "Yeah!" in the statehouse chamber. The video, an attempt to appear relatable, has been widely labeled as "cringe" by critics on social media, suggesting that the lighthearted display was tone-deaf given the state's pressing issues, such as unaffordable housing, high gas prices, and concerns over public safety.
The video features five Democratic state politicians dancing to "Yeah!" fist pumping in the air, and flashing gangster-style hand gestures.

View on XThis comes as California faces significant challenges in 2025. Democrats have maintained a supermajority in the state legislature, giving them substantial control over policy.
According to data cited by the Washington Examiner, California has the highest gas prices in the nation, driven by climate change and environmental taxes. Additionally, the state has been facing a serious affordable housing crisis over the past several years, due to the high cost of living, construction fees, zoning policies, and environmental regulations.
