CNN deletes evidence of Biden’s alleged assault

Twitter user J.L. Hamilton posted a screenshot on April 25, showing the gap in Google Play’s catalog.

The clip resurfaced when Tara Reade publicly accused Biden of sexually assaulting her when he worked in the Senate. Reade’s mother called into the show, briefly explaining the “problems” her daughter faced while working on Capitol Hill.

In a telephone interview with Fox News on Friday evening, Reade confirmed that her mother had called into the show in August of 1993. And although Biden’s campaign has adamantly denied the accusations, the clip could be used as evidence in support of Reade, despite Reade’s name not being explicitly mentioned.

The Intercept provided a transcript of the broadcast from August 11, 1993, of a woman from San Luis Obispo County, California, calling in to describe her daughter’s unfortunate experience on Capitol Hill.

“San Luis Obispo, California, hello," King begins the segment.

“Yes, hello. I’m wondering what a staffer would do besides go to the press in Washington? My daughter has just left there, after working for a prominent senator, and could not get through with her problems at all, and the only thing she could have done was go to the press, and she chose not to do it out of respect for him,” the caller says.

“In other words, she had a story to tell but, out of respect for the person she worked for, she didn’t tell it?” King inquires.

"That’s true," the woman responds before King cuts away to discuss the question with a panel.

The woman who called in was Jeanette Altimus, Reade’s mother.

Reade took to Twitter to confirm that her mother was, in fact, the person who called in to the show that evening.

Reade’s story reappeared in an article by The Intercept on March 24. Katie Halper interviewed Reade on her podcast about her experience with Biden.

“He greeted me, he remembered my name, and then we were alone. It was the strangest thing,” Reade told Halper. “There was no like, exchange really. He just had me up against the wall.”

Reade said that she was wearing “a business skirt,” but “wasn’t wearing stockings—it was a hot day.”

“His hands were on me and underneath my clothes, and he went down my skirt and then up inside it and he penetrated me with his fingers and he was kissing me at the same time and he was saying some things to me.”

Reade said Biden asked if she wanted “to go somewhere else.”

“I pulled away, he got finished doing what he was doing,” Reade said. “He said: ‘Come on, man. I heard you liked me.’”

It is unclear when the segment was taken down. CNN has not responded to any inquiries about the deleted segment.
