Crazed man punches 3 carriage horses in Central Park

According to the New York Post, the publication describes the unnamed suspect as a "maniac" before relaying the testimony of hansom cab driver Henry Kaya, 28.

A video of the confrontation after the horse ambush was shared to the outlet. "Why did you hit my horse?" Kaya shouts at the assailant. "Are you going to hit me too?" Henry claims other people in the park witnessed the incident.

According to the drivers, five of them had their buggies lined up when the man came out of nowhere with a sucker punch to one of the horses and then another horse. Finally the man came at Kaya's own steed, a 16-year-old chestnut mare.

"He raised his hand to punch my horse but I pulled my horse back so he could barely touch my horse," Kaya told the New York Post. At one point after the man stormed off, the drivers said he admitted to carrying a knife.

Kaya chased the man down and confronted him from a distance. "Why are you hitting my horse? It’s a poor animal!" Kaya yelled at the suspect. "He was stabbing me in the back, your friend," the man's response was.

Kaya was still angry and tried telling bystanders to call the cops. After stating something with the word "stabbing," the alleged horse puncher said: "There's nothing wrong with your horse! Now you're getting me upset."

After calling 911 and telling law enforcement about the situation, police said they've seen the same individual hanging around Times Square in the past. However, authorities said they're unable to find him so their hands are tied.

But this wasn't the first time the man has assaulted horses, according to a similar source. Horse carriage driver Mario Angelucci can not only back up Kaya's testimony, but sid last Wednesday the same man spat at a white carriage horse and scared it further by punching the air near its face.
