Amidst the multiple scandals surfacing in connection to Andrew Cuomo, Cuomo Prime Time, anchored by younger brother Chris Cuomo, has seen a 45 percent drop in viewership from the beginning of the year, Fox News reports.
CNN's Cuomo Prime Time averaged only 1.2 million viewers for the week of April 5 to April 9, marking the lowest-rated week of the year. Compared to the week of January 25, viewership has dropped 45 percent. Viewership was also down among the key demographic of 25 to 54 year-olds, down 55 percent to an average of 263,000 per night.
Viewership has reportedly dropped after Cuomo received priority coronavirus testing. Governor Andrew Cuomo allegedly ordered health department officials to give preferential treatment to those related to him and "influential people with ties to the administration." Residents of New York at that time were facing a shortage of tests.
Governor Andrew Cuomo is also facing sexual assault harassment allegations after 10 woman have come forward against him, and facing backlash against the cover up of nursing home deaths statewide.
Cuomo had his brother on his show multiple times last year in a series of widely criticized interviews filled with jokes and soft ball questions. Cuomo is no longer allowed to cover his brother.
Fox News reported that their newest show, Gutfield! Is averaging 1.6 million viewers since its premier of April 5, allegedly much higher than every CNN program. The show also beat CNN competing show in the same time slot CNN Tonight with Don Lemon by 135 percent.
