In a series of disturbing videos and text messages posted to Instagram early Wednesday morning, Vikings defensive lineman Everson Griffen claimed that someone was in attempting to kill him.
In a video posted to his Instagram, Griffen claimed that people were attempting to "pop" him, brandishing a pistol while talking to the camera.

"I still got clips left," he says in the video. "This is my gun … registered to me, I bought all my bullets around town, (Vikings running back) Dalvin Cook helped me purchase this gun. It all belongs to me."
In a statement from the Minnesota Vikings, they wrote that "Vikings representatives and the team's mental health professionals have been on-site at Everson Griffen's home since early this morning and are cooperating with law enforcement."
"Our only concern at this time is the safety and well-being of Everyone and his family. We will have further comment at the appropriate time," the statement continued.
In a police incident report obtained by ESPN, the Minnetrista Police Department stated that law enforcement and psychologists from the Minnesota Vikings have been in "on-going communication" with Griffen, who has refused to come out of his residence.
911 dispatchers received a call from Griffen shortly before 3 am, saying that someone is in his home and he needed help from the police.
Griffen told the dispatcher that he had fired his weapon, but did not hit anyone.
Law enforcement were unable to locate an intruder when they arrived at his residence.
"At this time, law enforcement officers are confident Griffen is alone inside the home and continue to work with him to resolve the situation," the report states.
Griffen has had a number of mental health incidents over the past few years. According to the New York Post, he jumped out of an ambulance in 2018 that was taking him to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
"This was the culmination of several days of concerning behavior, including threatening to 'shoot someone' if he was not allowed into his Minneapolis hotel room," wrote the New York Post.
