Doctor secures services of lawyer Lin Wood after getting fired for appearing in viral hydroxychloroquine video
A doctor was fired for appearing in a video talking about hydroxychloroquine. The viral video was taken down by Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter shortly after it was posted.
A doctor was fired for appearing in a video talking about hydroxychloroquine. The viral video—having garnered 14 million views on Facebook alone—was taken down by Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter shortly after it was posted.
President Donald Trump and his son Trump Jr. posted the video on Twitter, which resulted in Twitter deleting the president's tweet of the video and temporarily restricting Trump Jr.'s account for posting the same video.
Dr. Gold said in the viral video: "We’re here because we feel as though the American people have not heard from all the expertise that’s out there all across our country."
Founder of America's Frontline Doctors, Gold spoke to Tucker Carlson on Thursday and revealed that she has secured the services of renowned lawyer, Lin Wood, in fighting against those who have defamed her after she appeared in the video.
"There's a lot of people saying some negative things about me," she told Carlson. "I would ask people to please stop saying negative things about me. I'm a board-certified emergency physician, I take good care of patients. We've hired Lin Wood to help me in this matter. I hope that puts to rest anything that people might want to say that's defamatory." Wood was also the attorney who represented Covington student Nicholas Sandmann, and won.
Dr. Gold organized an open letter that has more than 600 doctor's signatures, calling for Trump to end the lockdown. Tech Startups reported that the letter described "widespread state orders keeping businesses closed and children home from school as a 'mass casualty incident' with 'exponentially growing health consequences.'"
After the turmoil surrounding the video, Gold shared, "WOW: Our website host @Squarespace has just completely and arbitrarily shut down our website, claiming a violation of their terms of service. We are a group of physicians advocating for a better understanding of COVID-19 and its available treatment options."
She continued, saying that "we are working on getting a new website up as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate the support we have received since our hosting provider censored and removed our website under dubious circumstances."
The Chief Creative Officer of TPUSA tweeted about YouTube allowing the posting of violent videos while simultaneously censoring doctors, including a video of Florida Representative Greg Steube saying: "How does a video of doctors talking about a medication they find effective violate YouTube's community guidelines?"
