Ontario premier Doug Ford has been laboured with having to break bad news and strict measures to Ontarians for weeks now, but today he had a bit of good news for children everywhere across Ontario.
In a very official statement, Ford confirmed that the Easter Bunny, the friendly rabbit that hides chocolates around the homes of families everywhere, will be authorized to work under Ontario law.
"I hereby confirm that the EASTER BUNNY is an essentials service provider and authorized to deliver Easter chocolate, candy and related treats to the children of Ontario," the statement reads.
"I also confirm that the EASTER BUNNY shall provide such services in compliance with all other Orders made under the Act, and shall not deliver Easter treats in parks, playgrounds and all other outdoor recreation amenities as described in Ontario Regulation 104/20 made under the Emergency and Civil Protection Act," it continues.

Ford was asked in a video call by a young Ontarian if the Easter Bunny would be coming around with the coronavirus still looming.
Ford told the young boy that the Easter Bunny was deemed essential, on one condition.
"You have to save me at least one chocolate," said Ford. There was a mutual agreement between the two parties, and the video call ended.
