View on XThe suspects arrived at the school in a dark vehicle and approached the school where they then shot at the building, according to Krawczyk. After discharging the firearms, the suspects got back in the vehicle and drove off. The police asked for the community to help provide more assistance to gather evidence to identify suspects.
Although motive was not determined and he said that it was too early to tell if it was driven by antisemitism, the spokesman said, "We're not going to ignore the obvious. What occurred here and what the target of the shooting was," referring to the Jewish elementary school.
The Center for Israel and Jewish affairs responded to the incident with a statement that said, "The fact a school was targeted regardless of whether kids were present or not represents another worrying escalation in the violence Jewish Canadians have been experiencing."
"We demand justice. We demand swift action," it added.
