Hakeem Jeffries solicited funding from Epstein in 2013—after financier was convicted child sex offender

One of the latest batches of files related to Jeffrey Epstein revealed that there was a solicitation for funding sent from a firm representing Jeffries that was sent to the sex predator in 2013. In an email sent from the firm to Epstein, it reads, "We are thrilled to announce that we are working with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, one of the rising stars in the New York Congressional delegation. Sometimes referred to as 'Brooklyn's Barack', he is a staunch supporter of President Obama and a progressive voice for the people of New York City."

The 2013 email sought to arrange a dinner with Jeffries as well as Epstein. At that time, Epstein was also a convicted sex offender.

“Shoot us an email or give us a call … if you would like to get involved with the dinner, or would like to get an opportunity to get to know Hakeem better,” representatives of the firm wrote to Epstein. “He is an impressive guy and who will be a progressive voice for New York politics for years to come.”

The revelations come as there has been a push to release more of the Epstein files and any communications he has had with officials in the government as well as others involved in the investigation connected to his sex crimes.

Jeffries has called for the release of all files related to Epstein as well as Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking and is serving 20 years because of her involvement in Epstein's crimes.
