HHS official assaulted inside UN headquarters, called a ‘fascist’ and ‘Nazi’ by suspect: police

The staffer, who was supporting HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his team, told Fox News she was followed and harassed by a woman wielding a bright light and recording device. The confrontation escalated inside a women’s bathroom, where the suspect allegedly tried to force her way into a stall while shouting insults, including calling the official a “fascist” and a “Nazi.”

“She kept screaming hyper-aggressive insults,” the official said. “Once I took a step back and regained my footing, it didn’t stop. I realized I was being yelled at and that the light was also a recording device.” She said the harassment lasted nearly 10 minutes before she was finally able to break free.

According to a source familiar with the case, the suspect has been charged with assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. She was released from custody on Friday evening and is expected back in court on November 13.

"An HHS official was followed into a bathroom, recorded, physically assaulted and verbally accosted by a deranged leftist at the UN who somehow entered the venue past multiple layers of security,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly said. “Thankfully, the official is safe, and the lunatic was arrested, but this is part of a disturbing and dangerous set of failures by the UN.”

Kelly added that the US Secret Service is investigating how the intruder managed to gain access to such a high-security event.

The US mission to the UN also condemned the attack. “This attack must be addressed swiftly, and consequences must be felt,” a spokesperson said, calling the situation “unacceptable” and demanding the UN implement major security reforms. “If you can’t keep people safe in your own building, how can you claim to be the world’s diplomatic center?”

The spokesperson added bluntly: “Enough is enough.”
